Rugby Season so far

Rugby's prominent position in school life has grown leaps and bounds over the years and 2017/18 has been no different.

Tip rugby is as popular as ever with each class getting out for at least two mornings of tip before school every week.

Training started when we returned from the summer holidays and matches started at the end of September when all classes played in blitzes across 4 venues. We hosted the 5th Form blitz which saw over 230 boys took part.

On any given Saturday morning St. Michael's can have up to 13 teams playing matches from 3rd to 6th Form. These teams compete against other local schools.

Another round of mini blitzes were held when we returned from the mid-term break and once again we hosted 5th Form. This time over 260 boys, from 8 schools played across 5 pitches. We were also very lucky on the day, to be visited by a number of past pupils who are current members of the Leinster squad.

The second half of the season will be as exciting as ever. More matches, blitzes, trips to Donnybrook and end of your tours await.
