Today, Friday 13th September, we celebrated Roald Dahl Day throughout the school. In all classes, boys enjoyed activities based on the wonderful stories and memorable characters created by the author. Some boys and teachers swapped their uniforms for clever costumes, ranging from Oompa Loompas to Matilda! To begin the day, we had a whole school Assembly when all classes got to choose a numbered envelope, one of which contained a "golden ticket". The winning class, Rang lán Ghaeilge 1, shared the prize, a hamper of chocolate and other treats, with boys in classes. The hall was transformed into a cinema with the boys in the junior classes enjoying popcorn and a showing of Fantastic Mr. Fox. Thank you to all the teachers for organising the fabulous range of activities which the boys enjoyed throughout the day.
