Earlier this week, following the publication of the Report of the Scoping Inquiry into Historical Sexual Abuse in Day and Boarding Schools Run by Religious Orders we were deeply saddened and shocked to hear reports of child sexual abuse which took place, in the past, in Spiritans schools, including St. Michael’s College. Our thoughts and prayers remain with those who suffered such grievous harm and are victims of such heinous crimes. In response to the report, the Spiritan Education Trust has issued the attached statement.
The Boards of Management of St. Michael’s College are absolutely committed to the highest possible standards of Child Safeguarding and Risk Assessment as laid down in the Children First Act.
