We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Tony Berigan, who was the caretaker in St. Michael’s College for 36 years, until his retirement in 2019.
Tony was involved in all aspects of Junior School life. Tony prepared the hall for Masses, Quiz nights, First Holy Communion parties and concerts. For many years, he prepared the pitches for the weekly matches and tracks for Sports Day. The range of activities which the boys enjoyed and benefitted from through those years was in no small part due to the dedicated work of Tony making sure that everything was just right for them.
Parents of older children in the school and dads who are past pupils will have many memories of Tony who was always friendly and cheerful. This week, St. Michael’s has lost two stalwarts who gave dedicated service to the school and the students over many years. Tony and the late Bonnie were great friends. Our prayer is that Bonnie and Tony are now both enjoying the reward of Heaven.
We extend our sympathy to Tony’s wife Hannah and his family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
