Active Schools Week - Day 5

Active Schools Week - Day 5

Today marked the end of an action packed ASW '21! Unfortunately, our 4th - 6th form Sports Day that was due to be held today had to be postponed due the rain, however, both sports days have now been re-scheduled for next week and we hope the weather will be on our side and the sun will come out for a few hours! Friday's physical activity challenges were based indoors and they involved a tricky shoe balance and a rugby ball passing exercise. It was great to see some of the teachers getting involved and every had lots of fun trying to complete it. Click the following link and give it a go yourself!

Classroom tasks included a 'Roll the Dice' and do the exercise physical activity session as well as another class quiz, which had the boys guessing what sports various athletes are involved in. Larissa Muldoon, Irish Women's Rugby Player and 2 time Six Nations Champion was the sports star of the day! There was also an extra special video sent in from Ryan Tubridy, who spoke light-heartedly about his own sport and physical activity background and also noted the importance of getting involved in any type of physical activity they can and left them with the message to 'Stay good, stay active and stay happy'. Physical activity homework was also given for the weekend where boys have been asked to engage in 60 minutes of physical activity on both Saturday and Sunday and to take part in a 5k walk or cycle with their family or friends.

Thank you to all the staff and students for making our first Active Schools Week so enjoyable. We are already looking forward to ASW '22!

This week, we had the school Christmas plays for First, Second and both Third Forms. They each were excellently performed. Many congratulations to the boys, their teachers and all who helped out.
The boys in 6.1 had a great time investigating whether different foods were a source of the carbohydrate starch or not.
Thug buachaill ó 6.2 (agus ón gCoiste Scoileanna Glasa) leideanna don rang ar conas is féidir linn a bheith níos glasa. Labhair sé go han-maith do gach duine.
