Congratulations to Tennis Team 1 and Team 2 who qualified from their group stages in the Leinster Tennis League.
Our Division 1 team qualified for the final against Willow Park. In a tough encounter, the boys were narrowly defeated 2-1. There was an excellent display of talent on show with the boys being praised for their high level of sportsmanship throughout the match. These boys have a great future ahead of them in the sport with half of them being eligible to compete in this competition again next year.
Team 3 qualified from their group stage undefeated, getting wins against strong opposition from St. Andrew’s, St. Mary’s and St. Cronans. They reached the semi-final against St. Laurence’s and were narrowly defeated 2-1 after playing some fantastic tennis. The boys should be very proud of their achievements in reaching the semi-final stage, with many of the games up against top teams from other schools. Each of these boys are eligible to compete again next year.
The St. Michael’s College AIJS tennis team received a clean sweep of accolades at the AIJS competition held in Rathdown in May. Rory O’H won the singles competition whilst Cameron and Louis won the doubles section after seeing off tough competition. A fantastic end to the boys Junior School tennis career. Maith sibh!
