The boys in Third Form 2 have been working on projects about their favourite bridges. The types of bridges included arch bridges, drawbridges, beam bridges, cable-stayed bridges and various modified designs. Their projects explored the science behind the design of each bridge.
In addition to showcasing their drawing skills, the students researched and created fact files on both Irish and international bridges. A highlight of this project was the opportunity for the boys to apply their design and construction skills. They selected materials to build a bridge capable of supporting the weight of a toy car without breaking. The results were impressive.
